Tender medicine
this tangle of budded branch,
cherry-blossomed words.
Early Spring
Deer bloom
in the estuary,
star storm
curtained
by nightcloud.
I look for you
in the day’s
last light.
This Pot
This small pot is spring -
bright in lingering
sun and long shadow,
dried leaf and lush moss.
It holds buds of alder
and salmonberry,
skunk cabbage bloom
in wet woods.
Rain catcher,
hail collector,
keeper of winds
this spring is cupped
by warm hands.
