Vase of Roses

As I lay in bed, my restless eyes

search my room. A smile plays

across my face as my vision falls

upon a lonely vase of roses.

How peaceful they look, so serene,

starkly beautiful against the white walls

of my room. Long, thorny stems reach

for my ceiling from a delicate blue vase.

Each crimson petal full of life and

beauty—an aesthetic I hope to replicate

within myself.
